Know Jesus?

Knowing Jesus

At the age of 19, I found myself listening to an evangelist who used to play in the National Football League.  The stories he was telling about his experience playing football had me on the edge of my seat.  In my mind, I was living every moment as though I had experienced the story myself.  Now fully engaged and captured by the speaker, he switched the story from his experience in the NFL to a different experience he said was more fulfilling.  Intrigued, I kept listening to find out what was more significant than playing in the NFL and that is when he spoke of a relationship that changed his life forever.  The day he accepted Jesus into his life is the day he entered into a relationship that brought peace, joy, and a different perspective on life – he was changed from the inside out.  Next thing I knew, I found myself on my knees crying tears of joy and forgiveness.  I found myself entering a relationship that brought peace, comfort, and through eyes that saw everything around me differently – I had asked Jesus into my life, and I became a born-again believer!

Today, my desire is for you to experience Jesus as I did and as many others throughout history – an experience that lies within the boundaries of a relationship with God our Father, His Son - Jesus our Savior, and the Holy Spirit our guide. Through faith and prayer, you too can have a relationship and experience the love God has for you – a love that never fails!

Salvation

John 14:6 NASB …Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me".
Romans 10:9 NASB …if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved…

Admit

Our relationship begins by admitting we are sinners.  In the Bible, the book of Romans tells us everyone has sinned and is far away from God’s saving presence – Romans 3:23.  We might believe our good deeds and religious acts are enough for a relationship with Jesus, but the truth is there is no one righteous, and our right standing with God begins by admitting we are sinners.

Believe
There is a story in the book of Acts where a jailer was in fear for his life and after having released Paul and Silas from jail, he asks them, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”  They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household." (Acts 16:30-31).  After admitting you are a sinner, you must believe Jesus died for your sins and that God raised Him from the dead to give you everlasting life.

Confess

1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins.”  By admitting and believing, we now confess our sins and ask for forgiveness.  No matter the sin, you will be forgiven!  Repenting of our sins is the act on our part of confessing our sins, turning from our past and changing into the person God has planned for us.

Know Jesus?

If you don't, would you like to know Him?

Prayer of Salvation

Father God, I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for my sins and rose to life again.  I am sorry for my sins and ask for your forgiveness, and I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Lord and Savior.  I invite you to transform my life and give me Your Holy Spirit to lead me in all my days. Thank you for your infinite goodness and grace in my life. In Jesus name, I pray.  Amen!
